Burnie Library is part of the State Library of Tasmania's statewide library network. It offers lending and reference library services to all members of the Tasmanian community and visitors.

Burnie Library is a large regional library located on the edge of the CBD, in the cultural precinct and two blocks from the beach. A Metro bus stops in Alexander Street. Short-term street parking and three public car parks are nearby. A childcare centre is located next door. A public telephone is situated over the road.
