Kingston Library is part of the State Library of Tasmania's statewide library network. It offers lending library services to all members of the Tasmanian community and visitors.

The Kingston Library is situated in the Channel Court Shopping Centre and is accessible by public and private transport. A car park is located off Hutchins Street with 29 one hour spaces and two disabled parking spaces. Access is easy via the self-opening front door and there are no steps or stairs.

Kingston Library facilities & services

  • Electronic services including internet access and online databases : PCs in Kingston Library can be booked online using our Netloan booking system
  • Photocopying
  • Home Library and Recorded Book services are available for eligible patrons
  • Services for people with disabilities:
    • Disabled toilet facilities are available
    • An oversized keyboard and mouse are available for patrons unable to use regular sized equipment
    • Two magnifiers are available for use by visually impaired patrons to enlarge small print in books
  • A meeting room is available for hire by community groups - it seats up to 40 people and contains 4 tables and a whiteboard. An overhead projector, electronic whiteboard, video recorder and tea-making facilities are available upon request.

  • Public notices may be placed on the notice board with prior permission of the Senior Librarian
  • Community groups may mount displays and exhibitions in the Library's glass cases and display boards
