The Tasmanian Index, which contains references to articles in Tasmanian newspapers and periodicals, began in 1966 as a card index which is still accessible in the Tasmaniana Library. The index on TALIS dates only from mid-1994, though earlier records are gradually being transferred from the cards to TALIS
