Glenorchy Library + Online Access Centre
The Glenorchy Library + Online Access Centre provides a range of courses to introduce people to computers and the Internet:
Basic Computing
Suit beginners and those interested in gaining more basic information on the variety of uses that a computer has.
3 x 2-hour sessions
$5.00 per session
Opening and using email
Suit beginners. Learn to communicate with friends and family through email. Includes opening an email account, sending and receiving emails, adding attachments, and adding friends to your contact lists.

Introduction to the Internet
Suit beginners or those with minimal experience. Learn "What is the Internet?", getting connected, how to search, and internet security.
3 x 2-hour sessions

Various single courses (subject to demand)
These sessions are conducted in small groups and revolve around answering specific questions that people may have regarding the use of different computer applications, including desktop publishing, digital photographs, scanning, and resume writing.

Genealogy Training
The Glenorchy LINC has a volunteer who provides training and assistance to people doing genealogy research on the first Wednesday of each month from February 2010 to December 2010. We are now taking bookings for February 2010. Both first-timers and experienced researchers welcome.

Three 30-minute sessions: 10.00am, 10.30am, 11.00am

Rosny Library
Library closure
Due to the building refurbishment all training has been suspended until 2010.
The Library will close at 12.30pm on Saturday 28 November 2009 and re-open as Rosny LINC at 9.30am on Monday 21 December 2009.

50+ Help with Family History
Last Friday of every month, January to November at 1.30pm and 2.30pm. Each sessions runs for 1 hour. A volunteer from The Tasmanian Family History Society will be available to assist patrons with their family history research.
