Awards Presented to the State Library of Tasmania.

Learning Together Awards 2003 

  • Beaconsfield Community Library:
    For a successful joint facility which serves the learning needs of the school and the wider community.
  • ‘ Tasmania’s e-Heritage Project’ (Peter Richardson and Elizabeth Clark):
    For collaborating with local history organisations to accelerate the use of technology and innovation within the local history and heritage community.
  • ‘Heading to the Library’ (Glenorchy Library and Cosgrove High School Library Program 2003):
    For a program which has resulted in greater participation by Grade 8 students in a range of services in their local library.
  • Information Sessions for Year 11 and 12 Students (Hobart Lending Library and State Reference Service):
    For working with staff in the senior secondary colleges to develop training packages targeting key subjects studied by Year 11 and 12 students.
  • ‘Babies Who Read, Succeed!’ (Kingston Library and Blackmans Bay Children's Services):
    For an innovative early literacy program, which focuses on the importance of creating a language-rich environment from birth onwards.
  • State Library of Tasmania ‘explore!’ (State Reference Service):
    For the creation of a database which provides a one-stop shop of online resources for library clients.

  • ‘Tasmania’s Community Net’ (TCN) (Tasmanian Communities Online Centre Support Unit):
    For developing a register of Tasmanian community organisations that can be accessed over the Internet.
