The Recorded Book Service helps people with a print disability to access books on cassette and compact disc. The books in this collection have copyright permission from publishers and authors for use by people with a print disability only. Recorded Books are not available on open loan from libraries or for direct sale to the public.
The service is available to the following library clients:
To register for this service please complete a Recorded Book Service copyright declaration form. The form requires the signature of an authorised practitioner. Authorised practitioners include GPs, social workers and disability service providers.
Recorded Book clients may visit the State Library and choose their own material, or they may be clients of the Home Library Service where the items are delivered to them. Library staff are happy to advise clients, to prepare a reading profile, and to place reservations on items.
