Teacher/home educator membership
To support your teaching, we offer a teacher/home educator membership. This membership is in addition to your personal library membership and allows you to borrow up to 15 items for 21 days.
Register
Teachers: You will need to complete a new registration form (available from any public library) and provide a letter of authorisation from your school Principal. The Principal of your school is required to act as guarantor for items lent because the school is accountable for items on loan, including costs incurred for damage or lost items. If you transfer to another school mid-year, you will need to complete a new registration for that school.
Home Educators: You will need to complete a new registration form (available from any public library) and produce your Tasmanian Home Education Advisory Council (THEAC) identification card.
Please note: you will also need show three forms of personal identification when registering. Acceptable personal identification is listed below:
The standard State Library schedule of fees and charges apply to items borrowed on your Teacher / Home Educator library card.
Your registration will be reviewed at the start of each calendar year.
