The Childrens Literature Collection comprises approximately 5,000 volumes. The collection contains a good representative overview of Australian children's publishing, primarily fiction. Some items date from the nineteenth century, but the bulk of the collection has been published since 1950. The collection also includes the winners of children's book awards, notably the Australian Books of the Year awards, Carnegie and Greenaway Awards from the UK and Caldecott and Newbery Awards from the US. Each medal group has been consistently maintained since its inception.This is housed in the State Reference Library. These holdings are listed on TALIS.
