The Tasmaniana Library houses and manages the Hobart Access Collection of the National Film and Sound Archive. The Hobart Access Collection includes about two hundred time-coded video copies, and a few audio recordings, of items in the National Film and Sound Archive collection. Items in the Hobart Access Collection can be found by searching the Library's online catalogue, TALIS. They can be used in the Tasmaniana Library or in city libraries around Tasmania. Members of the public can request any other items in the National Film and Sound Archive collection to be sent to the Tasmaniana Library free of charge. The National Film and Sound Archive catalogue indicates Hobart Access Collection holdings with the prefixes “HOV” (for videos) and “HOD” (for audio discs).
