The State Reference Library has a large collection of workshop manuals for current and older vehicles. It covers cars, four wheel drives, light commercial vehicles, trucks, motorcycles, all terrain vehicles, tractors and personal watercraft.
The State Reference Library also holds a small collection of publications that will assist with the repair of small engines, motor mowers and chainsaws and covers some specific areas of vehicle maintenance such as engines, transmissions, electrical systems, carburettors, etc.
The main collection of manuals is housed in the State Reference Library on the Second Floor, 91 Murray Street. If you live outside the Hobart area the manual you require can be sent to your local library for use there, through our Interlibrary Loan service. The manuals cannot be borrowed but sections may be photocopied using facilities provided in the library. Some workshop manuals are held in other city or branch libraries.
All manuals held by the State Library are listed on the library catalogue which can be accessed from home via our web site at http://www.talis.tas.gov.au.
The collection is constantly being added to through purchases and donations. If you have an old manual you no longer need the State Reference Library would love to have it.
