State Library of Tasmania Research Fellowships

The State Library of Tasmania’s Research Fellowships are intended to improve knowledge and appreciation of the rich holdings of the State Library’s Heritage Collections – the Tasmaniana Library, WL Crowther Library, Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts and Launceston Local Studies Library – and the Archives Office of Tasmania. The State Library welcomes applications for projects which will achieve this aim.

The benefits of Fellowships include:

  • Financial support at the rate of $1,000 per week, paid in negotiated instalments.
  • Advice and assistance from specialist staff.
  • Guided access to the closed stack areas of the State Library and Archives Office (to the extent that it is necessary for the project).
  • Use of photocopiers, scanners, etc. Applicants are expected to provide their own computer.

You should note that:

  • Fellowships are intended primarily to provide financial support for successful applicants.
  • The Library reserves the right to identify specific projects and to seek suitable applicants for those projects.
  • Fellowships must be completed by 30 June 2008.

Applications must be in hard copy. Please do not use staples or bindings.
