Artist Statement: Creature from the Cucumber Frame. (Cucucu umber) When the rabbit fell into the cucumber frame he let loose all sorts of exceptional inquisitive and desirous creatures fed by the cucumbers and solar radiation inside that innocuous box. This is one of them.

Biography: Jenny Orchard was born in Ankara, Turkey but grew up in Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, receiving a very colonial English education, Alice in Wonderland was part of her childhood and a favourite story. She is currently completing a Masters degree at Sydney College of the Arts. Her work is represented extensively in State and Regional galleries as well as the National Gallery of Australia and she exhibits widely in Australia and overseas. |
