Artist Statement: Curiouser and curiouser...
It's easy to think you know the story of Alice in Wonderland but further reading reveals so many descriptive passages and fine details previously lost to memory. The text provides a wealth of visual ideas, and John Tenniel's iconic illustrations are as fresh as ever. My teaset follows Alice as she tumbles down a rabbit hole chasing the white rabbit... sits in on tea with the Mad Hatter... meets the Queen and her entourage... all intermingling in a mildly psychedelic garden setting. Tea and cake anyone! |
