Artist Statement: The white rabbit has been a particular favourite so it is with some relish that I have explored the white rabbit in the story of Alice - he is a wonderfully attractive character about which to make images. This body of drawings concentrates on the illustrative legacy of John Tenniel’s original drawings and woodcuts and rely upon pen and ink drawings which have been distorted through the photocopying process and then re-drawn in pastel and charcoal. |
