Artist Statement: Current practice explores imaginary worlds of constructed fauna and flora sourced from 18 and 19th century engravings produced during scientific voyages of discovery. The Alice project suited this approach by combining Tenniel’s original wood engravings with my own collection of engraver’s marks. The Pool of Tears and The Garden of Live Flowers were the inspiration for the tea set. |
