
Hobart Lending Library is part of the State Library of Tasmania's statewide library network. It offers lending library services to all members of the Tasmanian community and visitors.
The Hobart Lending Library is situated in the State Library of Tasmania building at 91 Murray Street and is accessible by public and private transport. A small car park is located underneath the library for short-term visitors. Opposite the library in Bathurst Street is a public car park. Located in the Foyer is a licensed cafe, Zest. It offers drinks, snacks and light meals.
The State Reference Service is located in the same building.

The Hobart Lending Library offers general lending services. You can join the library by producing three personal identification documents at least one of which includes your current address and one includes your date of birth. Children under 18 must have a responsible adult to sign as guarantor.
Resources available from the Hobart Lending Library can be accessed through TALISPlus, the online catalogue of the State Library of Tasmania. You can request items and renew your loans through TALISPlus.
The Hobart Lending Library has internet terminals available for use. These terminals offer access to a range of electronic resources.
