The State Library of Tasmania has meeting rooms available for organisations, groups, and individuals to use. This page includes condition for hire.
The rooms are available for the following purposes :
- meetings of sporting, hobby, and craft groups
- courses conducted by Adult Education, Adult Literacy, and Adult Numeracy
- meetings, seminars, film screenings, musical or theatrical performances which are open to the public and which promote educational, informational, cultural and recreational activities
- meetings held by organisations involved with the promotion of the fine arts
The Director (Library Services) or the Senior Librarian in each library is responsible for approving public use of the meeting rooms. There are conditions of use which are outlined on the application forms, along with the charges for use. For details of costs see Fees and Charges.
Rooms must be booked in advance and may be booked on a regular and ongoing basis, though the State Library reserves the right to cancel bookings in exceptional circumstances.
