Children are eligible to join the library as soon as they are born but until they turn 18 an adult is required to act as their guarantor. The guarantor, usually a child's parent, accepts responsibility for the child's use of the library including the payment of any fees or charges, supervision of reading material and use of internet. There are no fines for overdue loans on a junior library card but a fee can arise for long overdue items.
Membership is free and joining is simple by visiting any of our 46 locations and producing three personal identification documents including one that shows your current address and date of birth. Further information can be accessed through the link to Borrowing services. Library activities are available to any child, regardless of whether they are library members or not.
