  Rock & Rhyme is an interactive session for young babies aged 0-24 months old with their parents or carers. Enjoy rhymes, rhythm and fun with nursery favourites.

• Family History
  Volunteers from the Family History Society of Tasmania - Burnie Branch are in attendance in the Reference Library on the Mezzanine floor from 9.30am to 3.00pm on the first and third Wednesdays of the month to provide assistance with family history research.

• Redevelopment of the Hobart Lending Library
  From Monday 1 September, for approximately 2 weeks, Hobart Lending Library will be undergoing some redevelopment work to provide an improved service desk and streamline some staff functions.
  All services will continue to operate, although there may be minor disruptions due to building  and electrical works while these improvements are in progress.

  Living Library Books are people who have experienced prejudice or social exclusion because of disabilities or faiths, beliefs, backgrounds, lifestyles and occupations.
  Readers join the Living Library and can then borrow each Living Library Book for half an hour's conversation in a friendly, secure environment.
  Both Living Library Readers' and Books' rights and obligations are clearly spelt out.

  Exhibition of research works by West Launceston Primary School children exploring the lives of 50 Australians from diverse backgrounds who share their personal stories through a significant event in their lives, highlighting one of the emotive themes - joy, hope, passion, devotion, mystery, loneliness, fear, separation, chance and thrill. The students have used their creative skills to convey these emotive themes through artwork, handmade books, personal story writing and reflection. They have also made connections with the local community and local historical events using The Examiner Newspaper supplements, My Story, My History.
