The Huonville Library is integrated with the Huonville Online Access Centre at the Huon LINC (Learning and Information Network Centre) in Skinner Drive, providing access to library services, computers and the Internet for the people of the Huon Valley, free of charge, in a welcoming and supportive environment. The Huon LINC is part of the Department of Education and promotes lifelong learning opportunities for the communities of the Huon Valley. It serves as a community hub and is designed to provide increased access to education and training.

 

Services

Branch libraries are part of the State Library of Tasmania's statewide public library network, and offer lending and limited reference services to all members of the Tasmanian community and to visitors. Members of the State Library of Tasmania can borrow and return library items in any of the city or branch libraries and can also reserve lending items from any library.

What's on at Huonville Library

Activities

  • Huon LINC Book Group
    Meets every third Saturday of the month at 10.30am at Granny Lews Organic Cafe, 17 Wilmot Road, Huonville.

  • Reading Together
    A free weekly program designed to help parents, grandparents or carers help their 3 and 4 year-old children to develop pre-reading skills.

  • Storytime
    Stories and activities for all preschoolers and their carers.

  • Rock & Rhyme
    Songs, rhymes and stories for babies and toddlers aged 0-18 months and their parents or carers.

    Local artists will display their work for one day in the Huon LINC Gallery, local art and craft groups will be invited to speak on group membership and participation.
  • Are you an Artist or Author? Are you interested in sharing your love of art and books with our community? Huon LINC is looking for local artists to exhibit their art work in the Huon LINC Gallery. The gallery is a free space, located in the Huon LINC building. Huon LINC is also looking for local authors to do monthly readings in the Huonville Library. If you are interested contact Huon LINC on (03) 6264 8482.
