A part of the State Library of Tasmania’s statewide network, Rosny Library is situated on the eastern shore of the River Derwent, in the City of Clarence, close to the Eastlands shopping centre. Ample parking is available and the library is also close to bus services.The main library entrance is accessed from Bligh Street along a walk of ornamental flowering crabapples, Malus Ioensis Plena.

General information about Lending and Reference Services
What are Friends for? Friends of Rosny Library form a link between the Library and the community. Members meet to undertake activities which focus on their interests in libraries, books and reading. Support is also provided for projects that improve services offered by the library. Some of the activities planned are Coffee and New Book afternoons, author visits and Booksales. Rosny Library has three computers providing free access to the Internet for public use. One of these also provides access to email and chat facilities. These machines link the library to global information networks and can be booked for use for one-hour periods.

The multicultural collection for the State Library of Tasmania is located at Rosny Library. Books in languages other than English can be borrowed locally, or selections can be sent for collection at any State Library service point throughout Tasmania.

Storytelling sessions for preschoolers and their carers are held every Wednesday morning at 11.00 am during the school term. More information on Storytime sessions.

Rock and Rhyme is an interactive session for young babies aged 0-24 months old with their parents or carers. The program is held every Wednesday and Thursday at 10.30 am. More information on Rock and Rhyme

Rosny Library offers word processing, scanning, CD burner, A4 and A3 printing, laminating, and binding facilities. A small fee is charged for the use of this equipment.
